Overview

Mascari Warner Architects was asked by the City of Corona to revitalize their downtown through a mixed-use healthcare master plan. As a team with the City of Corona, we are in the process of creating a place that will make Corona’s inner circle a true destination, both for permanent residents as well as retail, commercial, civic and multiuse designations.

The inner circle has become a thoroughfare to the outer more vibrant neighborhoods. Unfortunately, due to multiple reasons, the traffic oriented environment discourages pedestrian use.

Our vision is a place where cars are not important, free time is spent walking amongst quaint shops or dining al fresco, breathtaking views abound, and energy costs are practically zero. We envision a place where retail, healthcare, hospitality, housing and tourist attractions come together in an iconic building and park complex. This building will rely of sustainable design solutions; use of wind, solar and geothermal energy, in order to become an outstanding example of green architecture, not only to the city of Corona, but to the world. Even the central recycled water feature will assist in the renewable resource requirements for the complex, providing cooling, as well as water collection and retention.

Areas surrounding the core will be redefined for multi-use development; a mix between retail and residential uses, providing a rich pedestrian oriented neighborhood experience, while buffering the existing residential zones beyond.
