Overview
Birth is a cause for celebration. One goal of the 45,000 square foot Center for Women’s Health was to create a place to make the birthing experience a wonderful occasion, de-emphasizing the required clinical aspects while creating a timeless hotel-like feel. The Center for Women’s Health is comprised of 15 state-of-the-art LDR(P) rooms designed to accommodate up to 5,000 annual births in an existing hospital on two floors.
Other program elements include 2 C-section rooms, 13 Post-partum rooms, 5 Ante-partum rooms, a 15 bed well-baby nursery, a 10 bed NICU and 12 women’s surgical beds. Special design features include maple door surrounds and headwalls, ceiling domes at intersecting corridors, barrel vaulted ceilings, custom etched glass panels, alabaster pendant lights and an extensive, integrated art program promoting an assuring and inviting environment for patients, staff and visitors alike.
